Hello!
What’s on your to-do list for the rest of the summer? Mine is to enjoy the season. I’m not a fan of fall. It is pretty with the new colors. I love spring, it’s a re-birth of everything to come.
The dry summer has been a challenge. It’s amazing how great fields do produce. Lettuce and Kohlrabi took a hit. Potatoes are small – flavor is excellent. Flowers fell off some cucumber vines because of the dry weather. Pickling cukes may be less. People want Dill but I only sell it when you get your cucumbers here. I can’t understand people. Why would you buy cukes and they didn’t have any Dill? I need to sell my Dill to people who buy their cukes from me.
The season is so strange. I’m always learning.
We picked Chokecherries from our trees this year. First time the birds didn’t get them all. We will make jam. People always ask for that. Fun to have something new.
Pop Corn and Broom Corn is tasseling. Pop Corn is setting ears. Hope it makes it for fall harvest.
Popovers Friday or Saturday
10am – 2pm in the Coffee Shack
Also sold in the store. They are excellent.
Fun to do something new!
