Hello!

Rhubarb At the Farm

Happy Spring from At the Farm, I think it’s here. Oh spring. It’s my favorite time of the year when it’s nice. This season has had a few ups and downs.
Fresh Homegrown Asparagus is ready when it does not freeze. That has been a problem. I never sell any from Mexico, only Minnesota.
The bedding plants are fabulous, a lot of new colors. Purple is high for color. I’m a red and pink flower lady, but I can learn to like other colors.

The Soil is Ready for your Cold Crops

Seed Potatoes, Onion Sets and Plants, Peas, Carrots, Leaf Lettuce, Kohlrabi, Cabbage Plants, Broccoli Plants, Parsley Plants, Shallots, Cutting Celery, Beet Seed, Swiss Chard and Rhubarb.

Warm Weather Crops

Put your hand in the soil, if it’s warm you can plant. Do not plant too early. They go backwards and it takes them a long time to go forwards. When the soil is warm, they just take off and grow.
Tomatoes (Slicing and Cherry), Peppers (Red, Green, Hot & Sweet), Cucumbers, Squash (Summer & Winter), Muskmelon, Herbs and Sweet Corn.

Gardening Advice

Cilantro – do not buy a plant. It dies. You need to plant seed. It’s hard to find so come to the Farm, I have it.
Tomatoes or Peppers – we pinch the first blossom off. I think you get a better plant as all the energy goes to start growing, not the small Tomato or Pepper.
Fertilizer Chicken Pellets – can be applied anytime. I have organic 1 lb., 4 lbs. or 20 lbs. It works great!

Saturday the 24th of July

I am hosting a gathering for Scott Jensen, he’s running for Governor of MN. I’ll do a Corn Roast also, Polka Band, Llamas, Tour of Gardens, etc. I’ll let you know the time soon. Please put this on your Facebook page, thanks. I missed events so I will do this.
