The Crab Trees are Blooming
So Pretty and Grand
Robins are crooning
Let’s give them a hand
Hello!
Is it time to build the Ark? What a wet spring. The fields are sad with water everywhere. There is one field planted. Onions, peas, and potatoes. People are not too excited to buy plants as they can’t get them in. They will wait until the sun comes out to dry things up.
The Veterans Program last Saturday went well. I had Senator Scott Jensen and Representative Jim Nash here to speak. Also Stan Heldt spoke about the Veterans Memorial Park in Mayer. We had a Sloppy Joe lunch in the Loft. The Tip Jar for the Veterans was a success. That can go to help buy a paving brick for someone. The weather got cold in the afternoon, so I closed.
Remember the last letter when I talked about the Ice Man days? I think we could have it in 2019. Hard to believe the weather. Just wait to plant. For seeds the soil should crumble in your hand. Sometimes the soil crusts over seeds and the plants can not push through the soil and will die. The soil needs to warm up. When the soil is cold warm weather crops go backwards. It sets them back. Also if your plant is root bound, you need to cut some roots off, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch or pull some roots apart. They need to re-grow new roots to be a fabulous plant. Learn more about growing warm weather crops on my website.
