April 9 Newsletter
Hello!
Well, it’s a challenge to write these letters. I think hard to make these interesting and fun.
I am fine now. Had a little chariot ride on Friday at 4pm. The whole house was upside down. It was my inner ear. I went to the hospital to get checked out. I was checked for a stroke, but that was not so. Thank heavens. I have inner ear problems sometimes but not like this one. I was in the kitchen and looked up to the microwave and it came. I was able to hold on to the cabinet and get to the phone to call 911. I’m not far from Ridgeview Hospital. Got there and there was five people to take care of me. Not busy with the virus. They did the tests and said it was inner ear. I got home at midnight. Took a while to get well, but on Sunday I could do dishes, clean my kitchen table and fix meals. I’m well.
The opening date for the store is still on hold. I have the seed potatoes and the onion plants are to arrive the week of April 10th. If it’s warm in the Barn, I will put the Garden Seeds out maybe April 9th. There isn’t a lot to plant yet, soil is too wet.
All my events are canceled for 2020. Sad, but that’s how things are this year.
I had a fabulous phone call on Sunday, April 5th. The person wanted to know if I was open. I said, “No, what can I do for you?” She wanted a Sister Jean Cookie (SO DO I). It’s so special to be known for them.
Brenda is planting in the Greenhouse. Had a problem with the furnace in there. It would not stay lit. They came with the part and now it works. A lot to learn to be a Farmer.
I hope to get a grocery delivery next week. I need an Easter Lily. Me and my family will not be together but we can do this in June or whenever. A friend of mine from Church brought me a Lily. So pretty and it makes me feel good.
One of my elves brought me a piece of apple pie she baked, great!
I have the Chicken Pellets coming this week. I’m excited to learn how this will feed the soil. It’s organic, coming from Winthrop, MN. They bring it Thursday or Friday. It’s dry and we spread it in a fertilizer spreader. The fields are not ready to work yet. Had a big tiller fixed. It is to get back to the Farm on Tuesday. Vegetable plants are coming up in the Greenhouse, fun to see.
I really like spring. It is a re-birth. Fun to see what plants made it through the winter and are coming up.
I have a couple Color Peppers we will try, always fun to learn.
I’m staying home. I miss people but that some day will change. It’s so strange what we are doing. I’m so proud of everyone who stays home. Do our part to keep everyone safe.
