The birds will be singing
And Cardinals say what cheer
What Spring will be bringing
Stop and listen, there’s a lot to hear

Hello!
The daylight is getting longer. It’s so great to see day break early. Light longer in the afternoon. My energy flows better with more day light.

The seeds are arriving, that is a real joy for me. It’s always great to grow something new. I’ll re-plant a red Torpedo sweet onion. It is narrow and oval. I had this one many years ago but no one was interested. Things have changed a lot in cooking. Lettuce is a huge item. Fun to try new ones. Butter head sells better than leaf lettuce. Found a fabulous sweet cabbage last season. It doesn’t get so huge as people can’t use a large size.

The variety of Roma tomatoes which I’ve grown for years bit the dust. No seed anymore, but I have wonderful ones to take it’s place. It’s a great challenge to keep up with change. Good for the brains.

We grew white beets in 2017, that wasn’t a winner. They had excellent flavor but not red. The gold beets have finally caught on, but the red is the best.

I will re-do one of the Antique Buildings. There is a re-birth of Botanicals (green plants) to decorate with in decorated pots. The people remember Mom and Grandmother’s plants in the house. It’s a swing back to this – fun! They will be in planters, not a lot of small single pots. Always fun to learn.

The Floral Garden Tour is selling out fast. I may need to get a bigger bus for the Tour. It’s so fabulous when people are so interested in what we do.

Working on a Poetry Garden Walk in June at my Farm. Don’t know if it will fly. A leader will explain different flower plants, soil, light, water, etc. We then will gather in the Loft of the Barn to write a poem about what you learned, have coffee and dessert. If you can’t do a poem, you can say what you learned.

Keep thinking spring.
I’ll write again.
