The Fields are turning Golden
Harvest Time is Near
What will we be holding
When this Season disappears

Hello!
There was a commotion on Saturday afternoon in my Farm driveway. A lady was having a health issue and turned in to call 911. People going by thought it was for me, it was not. Thank you for all the concern that I was ok. It’s fun to live on the highway and people look after me.

Fall is upon us and the pop corn is drying. Last year was a flop. It wouldn’t dry. The cob needs to snap off the stalk and not twist it off. We had so much rain in September it couldn’t dry.

Now to plant garlic. I do not have any bulbs to sell as mine didn’t do well. I have tried a lot of seed houses with no luck. They are all sold out. I have a connection in Michigan and will try to get seed. Otherwise, I will not be able to have any home grown garlic in 2019. Nothing is perfect.

To plant garlic – It’s too early now. Plant in October, 2 inches deep. Make sure it’s hard neck, cover with 6-8 inches hay. In early spring (March) remove hay. It will start to grow early and your stems will not be straight as they can’t push through the hay. July is usually when you can harvest the garlic. Dry in a dark place.

The fall dress has arrived. Pumpkins, pie pumpkins, gourds, mini pumpkins, broom corn, colored corn, pampas grass, grape vines and hay bales.

My cat population is going down. I only have spice (orange) left. I got some new ones but they ran away. My old black cat has not been around for 1 week.
