What happened to Spring?
No Rhubarb is showing
I really can’t sing
When will we be mowing?

Hello!
Spring is having a hard time arriving. I don’t know when I can open. The barn has heat but it’s also like heating a corn crib. I have my seed potatoes in the greenhouse but need to cover them with an electric blanket to keep from freezing, this really makes my brain work.

The greenhouse is full of vegetable plants. The germination was excellent. Some plants are being up-sized to a larger container. The tomatoes are just seeded. A lot of things get started again to be ready later for putting in the fields.

If you have any seeds left from 2017, you can test them now to see if they will grow. Cut a paper towel in small pieces, put 3-5 seeds in that wet towel and put in plastic bag. In a few days, check that and if they have sprouted you are good to use them. Peppers are the worst to save. They usually don’t make it and you need new.

My 2 orange cats had a trip to the vet recently. The Countryside Vet does Barn Cats spade and neuter surgery. They don’t need all the shots, exam and whatever else. It’s about 3 times in the early spring they offer this. I don’t need them to roam.

My Garden Tour on July 25th is full. I have another one August 9th, it’s a Town Garden – Country Garden, one on Lake Waconia on top of Cemetery Hill with a landscape down to the lake, Sovereign Estate Winery and me. Lunch at my Farm. $37 total. $25 is for the bus, $12 for lunch. I just love to do these. I did some when I had the Country Store. It’s fun to redo.

Don’t forget my friend at The Noble Lion in Victoria. Great food. He is a great engine to run that train. Sister Saturday is May 12th, 20% off antiques, sheds are open!

I’ll write again,
Donna
